About
M.J.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, M.J. Sarmiento earned her B.F.A. in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York.
Her studio practice explores inner dialogue through drawing and painting live models, often overlapping the figure to create a narrative dance. Now based in Vancouver, she moves between traditional media and visual effects for film—two disciplines connected by a love of place, light, and human presence.
